Johnny David Damonis an American professional baseball outfielder who began playing in Major League Baseballin 1995. He last played in 2012, though he has not officially retired. In his MLB career, Damon has played for the Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, Tampa Bay Raysand Cleveland Indians. I felt I had to (salute the fans), especially to those who were cheering. Unfortunately, I didn't swing the bat well, so I guess I helped the Red Sox.

I felt like I had to salute the fans because they were always great to me here and I know now they're just booing the uniform. They appreciated everything I did and how I played the game. I'm just disappointed we didn't come out swinging the bats better.

It was pretty much a fastball down the middle. I felt bad. I was looking for a pitch a little lower. I was looking for something down and he actually got it belt high. I was pretty surprised I missed it, but it wasn't the best of swings. Fortunately, now, I missed it, because if I had put it into play, who knows what would've happened.

We're not happy. We felt like we had a good enough team this season to win it all. We got to the playoffs, which is the first step. We just couldn't put anything together in this series.
