You obviously have to be productive to be in the lineup every day. We want to make sure he is productive the entire year. It's tough to ask a guy to catch 120 games a year when he hasn't done it before. He's just not used to that, getting beaten up and fatigued.

You don't want to see any player ever retire too early or have family issues that takes him away from the game. It's hard to retire. I hope if that's the choice that he made that he's happy with his decision. It's hard to take your uniform off.

You don't want to really hurt someone's development. We'll have to make that decision if we think it's beneficial for maybe one of the young starters to pitch out of the bullpen.
