beginning defended fought half playing scoring second time tough
We fought at the beginning of the second half and then they just annihilated us. They defended us well and we had a very tough time scoring inside. If we keep playing like that, we won't get into the playoffs.
break concept executing guys hard instead shoot team time touch
Guys are not getting enough shots. Shoot every time they touch it. Instead of executing the play, they break every play down. It's pretty hard to have any kind of team concept with that.
basketball believe decent earlier execute group guys longer nuances offense pick played playing regardless season shot team time together tough younger
I think we do believe in the offense now. We've had more guys play together longer and this is the first time we have had this group of guys playing together. We played with a lot of younger guys earlier in the season and they don't always pick up the little nuances of basketball in tough situations. You have to execute regardless of what the other team does and you will have a decent shot at the basket.
confidence confident floor fought great grew guys knowledge level spell threw time watched
He's a very confident guy, but I probably got into his confidence level a little bit. The important thing to me was he fought threw that little spell we had and his confidence grew and grew. He can see a lot of things on the floor not many guys can see. I've been around a long time and watched a lot of different guys play this game. He has great knowledge of basketball.
aware maybe time
I just thought it was an opportune time to do that because maybe he had something in his head, or something was going on that I wasn't aware of.
deal difficult familiar rhythm shots standing time
They (Jazz players) are not familiar with how to deal with the pressure, and so that's how they've always done it ? overpower people, and get shots off. But you have to make them. Because when we take standing shots that are not really in a rhythm or anything, we have a difficult time (defending) the other end of the floor.
begin game hard shot time took
He took off like the game was all his, to begin the ballgame. He shot every time he got it. And, fortunately, he made it. So it's hard for you to say too much in that situation.
execute quarter running second
We just got annihilated. We had one quarter in which we executed and that was the second quarter. When we don't execute our offense, we don't get anything. We were just running around out there.
block boards guys missing second shots sort trying understand win
I understand guys missing shots and that sort of thing. But I don't understand not being able to block them off the boards and give them second shots right when we're trying to win a ballgame.
farther game kept matter next people step team year
People think it's pretty easy, but it's pretty difficult. A year ago, this team just kept going farther and farther down. They didn't step up and try to make a change. We were 11-21, I think, a year ago and the next game didn't matter probably.
gone good impressed players tough
I've always been impressed with what he's able to do. He's just gone through some tough times. Some players do and some players don't. I think those tough times are good for him.
commitment common drive everybody felt man missing outside presence shot stay talked team whatsoever worried
Everybody you talked to about our team would tell you we had no presence whatsoever inside. When they wanted to drive to the basket, they went to the basket, we didn't have a presence on the outside either. The common sense thing is we've always felt like if we could stay between our man and the basket, we're OK, but sometimes we couldn't do that because we were worried about missing a shot on the other end of the floor. There has to be a commitment to do that.
feeling guys head love seeing shake shaking soon sorry team whip whipped
As soon as you whip yourself but shaking your head and feeling sorry for yourself, you're a whipped pup. I'm sorry, but that's the way it is. Guys on the other team love seeing that. They love to see you shake your head and say, 'Oh my goodness, now what am I going to do?'
competing finishing hanging
We are still hanging in there, competing and finishing to the end.
