took
That was pretty big for us. It took away their momentum.
avoid beginning game good playing rhythm
I was beginning to wonder. You don't get yourself better by playing at half-speed. You've got to get yourself going so you get into a good rhythm and you don't get hurt. That's how you avoid injuries. Playing this game casually, you can really get hurt.
opportunity players upset veteran
I was more disappointed in our veteran players. You know, you can be upset with the young players ? but some of them haven't had an opportunity to be on the floor.
learned smart
(Miami) is a smart team, they execute. We haven't learned to do that in an offense. We can't do it one-on-one.
belonged bit felt gave knowing
I think he was kind of rejuvenated, knowing that he felt like he belonged there. I think it gave him a little bit of a lift. I think it was important to him as a person.
begin comfort front playing shut zone
We just couldn't keep them in front of us. We couldn't keep them from penetrating to the basket. They got about everything they wanted tonight. They were playing in such a comfort zone that we couldn't even begin to shut them down.
block boards difference guys line missing second shots trying understand win
We just couldn't do anything with them in overtime. I can understand guys missing shots, but I don't understand not being able to block them off the boards and give them second shots while we're trying to win a ballgame. They got to the free-throw line and we didn't. That was the difference in the game.
We couldn't do anything in overtime. They made their shots, and we just couldn't make any of ours.
basket defense good guys job keeping matter played shoot top tough
I thought he (Palacio) played pretty well. He played defense well, which is tough no matter which of those guys you put him on. The important thing is we did a good job of keeping them on top of the basket and made them shoot over the top of us.
head maybe
Maybe I'll have 12 captains, ... I've got a lot of things going on in my head with that right now.
beginning defended fought half playing scoring second time tough
We fought at the beginning of the second half and then they just annihilated us. They defended us well and we had a very tough time scoring inside. If we keep playing like that, we won't get into the playoffs.
duress himself learns sure
Those are things he can learn, but he has to put himself under a little more duress to make sure he learns it, ... Because I think he can do some things out there. He can run, he can jump.
almost came hang night played pressure
We came out real soft. They put pressure on us and we just kind of would hang out. That's the way we played almost all night long.
break concept executing guys hard instead shoot team time touch
Guys are not getting enough shots. Shoot every time they touch it. Instead of executing the play, they break every play down. It's pretty hard to have any kind of team concept with that.
