forward games innings looking nine playing spring
You go from spring training, where you're (in the lineup) here and there and you can't really simulate playing nine innings continually, to having to play 17 games in a row. I think everyone is looking forward to this day off.
bit games knowing last losing position press win
Being in all of those games and being in a position to win some of them, it's just frustrating being on the losing end of most of them. It's a little more frustrating knowing that you are probably a little bit better than you were last year. You should be doing better, but you're not. I think it makes everyone kind of press to do a little more than they probably should. I think that's compounding the problem.
break carries game games help last momentum night rolling spell three whether win
This game is all about momentum, ... I think last night had (it) rolling through tonight. Momentum is what carries you. Whether you're 30 games back to three games back, momentum can break the spell and help win games.
baseball love speaks volumes
This whole weekend, all these people--it just speaks volumes about our fans. They still love baseball here.
blast challenged early followed great paul runs start
We've been challenged many times this season, so for us to get those runs early and Paul having an unbelievable start was big for us, ... It was a bleeder and a blast followed by some great pitching.
definitely finally gets ready talking
We've been talking about it for a while. Now we're just ready to get out there and get going. You have that anticipation, it finally gets here and you definitely get excited.
biggest hitting instead key kinda nice playing relax runs three
We had pitching, hitting and defense. It was nice to get all three working together. The biggest key was getting the three runs early. That let us kinda relax a little bit, instead of playing from behind.
finish goal left soon weeks
I'd like to get something done as soon as possible, but we have two weeks left in the season. My goal now is just to finish strong.
excited forward good heard looking manager offense pirates run spring
No offense to Lloyd (former Pirates manager Lloyd McClendon) and his staff, but I'm looking forward to going to spring training. And there's going to be a different look, a different feel, a different way things are run and I've heard nothing but good things. So I'm just excited about the way we're going to go about things.
coming face middle reason season start talent talking turning
On paper, no question, we're a better team. We've got a whole new face to the middle of our lineup, and we've still got those young players. That's reason for optimism. At the same time, we've got to start turning the young talent into wins. You can't keep coming into every new season talking about young guys.
call help maybe motivate shaking
Maybe this is a wake-up call for us, too, to say 'Hey, we're shaking things up,' and, hopefully, it can help motivate us.
new-york moving boston
Having played in Boston will help me a ton moving to New York.
limelight
I don't really like the limelight.

It really tests you as a person as far as whether you can handle failure.
