excited forward good heard looking manager offense pirates run spring
No offense to Lloyd (former Pirates manager Lloyd McClendon) and his staff, but I'm looking forward to going to spring training. And there's going to be a different look, a different feel, a different way things are run and I've heard nothing but good things. So I'm just excited about the way we're going to go about things.
call help maybe motivate shaking
Maybe this is a wake-up call for us, too, to say 'Hey, we're shaking things up,' and, hopefully, it can help motivate us.
baseball love speaks volumes
This whole weekend, all these people--it just speaks volumes about our fans. They still love baseball here.
blast challenged early followed great paul runs start
We've been challenged many times this season, so for us to get those runs early and Paul having an unbelievable start was big for us, ... It was a bleeder and a blast followed by some great pitching.
distinct flattering fun mess seen standard
It's more flattering than anything. You have fun with it. It's pretty cool, but I don't really have any distinct features. Pretty standard issue. But I've seen some that look pretty bad, so at least they didn't mess it up.
comprehend flattering hard until
It's more flattering now than anything, ... It's hard to comprehend something like that until it is done.
enjoy game hot night point relish sure worked
It's not something I've set out to do, it's just worked out this way. I enjoy playing. I'm sure when I get a little older, I'll relish having a day game after a night game off on a hot afternoon, but not at this point in my career.
everybody few fill hope money pocket previous speaks spend spent talent team ways
It speaks volumes, I think, that this team went out and spent the money it did this winter, especially after there wasn't a lot spent the previous few years. I hope everybody realizes now that there are two ways to get better: One is to give up young talent in trades, which you don't want to do. The other is to spend money out of pocket to fill needs. We did it right.
call fall guy maybe played positive questions seems
It's unfortunate to see one guy take the fall for 25. It really is. There seems to have been not as many questions about us and the way we've played than there were about him. If we can take a positive from it, that's going to change. This is the wake-up call maybe we need.
carrying definitely drive hitter job runs score
It's definitely not just me carrying the team, ... As a middle-of-the-order hitter my job is to drive in runs and score runs.
finally fun game nice
It was nice to finally have a game in which we could have some fun and relax. We haven't had a game like this all season.
anyone dealt forget game mind totally year
It's not as distracting as I thought it would be, ... It's in the back of your mind. For anyone to totally forget about that is not human. At the same time, I've dealt with a lot of distractions all year with the All-Star game and the 'sophomore slump.'
buy falling good lottery start ticket time turn
It's not a good time to buy a lottery ticket if you're a Pirate. But that's baseball. Hopefully, that will turn around and it will start falling our way.
finally game good longer seems win
It's good to finally win a game ? it seems like it's a lot longer than it's actually been.
