came carrying gave glad great halftime louisville lucky personal played playing plays poise proud second sloppy tech virginia win
Personal fouls, sloppy plays and penalties, that's not us. I'm glad we came back and played like us in the second half. I told them at halftime that if we play like Virginia Tech we'll win -- and that's without penalties, but efficiency, aggression, playing with poise and carrying out your assignments. Louisville did a great job. We were lucky to win. We played more like Virginia Tech in the second half and I was proud of that. We gave great effort.
effort football gave great kept kids knocked penalties played proud second tech tough virginia
We got back to Virginia Tech football in the second half. We knocked off the penalties and played good, tough football ... I thought our kids gave great effort and kept battling, and I'm proud of that.
impressed proud
I've just been very impressed with the whole process. I'm proud of him...I think he understands very well that his play is what counts.
battling chasing coming ended football gave great hung kept kids playing proud team tech virginia win
I told our football team at the half, if we play like Virginia Tech plays, we win the football game. That?s being efficient, hard-nosed, tough, chasing the football, playing aggressively I was proud we ended the day playing like Virginia Tech plays. I thought our kids gave great effort. They hung in there and kept battling and kept coming back.
against business coming heck next people proud ready stink talk week
We're getting ready to play Ohio. I don't think you talk about those. The players, that shouldn't even be an issue. I'm proud. I'm proud as heck of what people think of us and what's coming around, but I know this: In this business it's one week to the next, and if we go out there and stink it up against Ohio, (the media) will be writing about something else next week.
ability good knew people program proud
I'm proud that we demonstrated to the ACC that we were a good pick. We've got the ability to be a good program for them. I think they knew that, but I think a lot of people didn't think we were going to be that this year.
compete interfere spent time together
We have to compete on the field. That's just the facts. That doesn't interfere with all the time we've spent together before.
ahead decided line looked moving offensive talked year
We had talked about moving Duane a year from now, but as we looked at the offensive line we decided to go ahead now,
allow bend blow braces bunch butler knee mind operated question save seen tough
I've seen those knee braces save a bunch of knees. There's no question in my mind that Reggie Butler would be operated on right now if he hadn't had that knee brace on. It was a tough blow right to the knee, but the brace didn't allow the knee to bend to where something would be completely torn.
best group
I've said it before, that this is the best group of kickers that we've ever had.
ball distance good great hang kicking nic pleased
I've really been pleased with Nic Schmitt. He's kicking in a good rhythm, kicking the ball quickly. He's getting great distance and hang time.
good three
The stats aren't very good, but I thought the way our quarterbacks played, you feel good because each of those three made some really good plays.
Things are in place for us. I think this thing is just going to keep growing.
came dropped efficient lack needed quarter second third win
The win was good. I didn't think we were as efficient offensively, especially in that second quarter, as we needed to be. Some dropped balls, some lack of execution. I thought we came back in the third quarter and got some things done.
