adhere barry doctors knee last medical month ready saw since time trust
We've got to adhere to what the doctors say. He's getting better but not ready to play. There's not a whole lot that we know. We don't see Barry around. We don't see his knee physically. The last time we saw it was over a month ago. We trust the medical people. It's always been up in the air, ever since spring.
bases best seen struck threw turned
With the bases loaded, he turned it up. He threw a curveball to Utley and struck him out that I think was the best curveball I've ever seen him throw.
again believe close good happens including people pitching played players serious teams
When the good teams played they were very close games. Pitching dominated. When that happens anyone, including the U.S., can get beat. I believe that if it happens again with this kind of tournament, some of the people including the players who didn't believe it was serious will have to believe now that it is serious.

forgot games losing threw win
Tomko threw well. It's just that we forgot how to win games at home. If it's 3-2, we're always on the losing side.
against hit offensive stop team tough
Tomko had a tough time. They hit him pretty good. We put a left-hander in to stop the bleeding. They're a tough offensive team against righty pitching.
fact last left pitcher strong year
He was a strong pitcher when he left the game. That wasn't a fact last year at this time. It was a very encouraging outing.
trying work
He's had a lot of things to work around. He's been trying to get back to the place he was.
knew
I always knew we had a shot, but a long shot.
ball breaking confident fastball matt threw
He was very sharp. He threw the ball hard, the same old Matt Cain. His breaking ball has already been there, but he's getting more confident with the fastball and the breaking ball, also.
couple
He was tired. He did a couple things he hadn't done yet this spring.
calm kid king mound people time
He was the king of the mound today. He was a very calm kid out there. Right now he's overpowering people with his fastball. There's going to be a time when he's going to have to go to the other pitches. And he will.
batting behind giving guy happens shot
He's contributing big-time to our winning, being on base, prolonging the inning, giving a shot to the guy batting behind him. It happens every year.
ahead throw
Those who feel they are clean, go ahead and throw the first rock.
