backs backward game good involved last offense played running score spring springs start three throws today
I've been involved in springs where, the last week, you're going backward -- you go out for the spring game and the quarterback throws three interceptions, the running backs fumble and the offense doesn't score a touchdown. Then you start making excuses. But we played well enough today and did enough good things.
defensive definitely game hope line playing run running struggled ways
The run game struggled but I hope that's because our defensive line is playing better. We have a ways to go running the ball. We definitely have to get a lot better at that.
believed game players
I've always believed this: The game comes down to the players executing,
bad came game guys hard played prepared win
We came up here and our guys wanted to win this game so bad and we played so hard. We prepared so hard during the week, and it just hurts. It really does.
ball care game next quick
I don't care where or who we are playing, the next ball game can't get here quick enough,
beginning dame game journey
The Notre Dame game is a big one, but it is really just the beginning of a long journey for us.
game player ricky team took win
We're going to do what we have to do to try and win the game. Ricky wanted to go in at the end of (Sunday's) game to get 100 yards. I took him out. He's a competitor. ... There's not a player on our team who says, 'You try and win it, I'll watch.' That doesn't compute.

beginning challenge coming exhibition games guys hard prepared pressure respond season talent time tough training virginia work
There will be a lot of pressure on us to get it right in training camp. We don't have any exhibition games, any 'give-me' games coming out of the blocks. Virginia is a very tough game, especially for an opener. We have young players, but they have talent and we'll work hard to get them ready. These guys will respond to the challenge and we'll be a lot better prepared for the beginning of the season this time through it.
determine factor game guys happens looking nature react season sorry type
They were like all of us, me included, looking for someone to feel sorry for you. But that's the nature of the game. That game is not going to determine what type of season we have. That game is not going to be the determining factor of what happens in December. How we react to that game is going to determine what type of a season we have. And our guys have responded.
beat bothering came competitor couple fighting game guy last shoulder tough
He came out of the game okay. He's beat up, we know that. His shoulder has been bothering him for the last couple weeks. He's fighting through it like the tough guy that he is and the competitor that he is.
attention believe confident control game guys media moving plan separate time
By (the) time you get out there and it's game time, you're confident in your plan and you believe you're going to be successful. The guys who can separate what you can control and what you can't control are the ones who keep moving and don't crack. It's a battle, though, because of all the media attention and scrutiny.
attention bowlers bringing bullets center fans games looking media pressure pro ricky understand win
I'll take the pressure off Ricky, ... I'll take the bullets for Ricky right now. When we made the trade, one of the first things I told him was, 'We've got Pro Bowlers on defense. You don't have to be the center of attention here. The media and the fans are going to try and make you that. But understand that's not how we're looking at it. We're not bringing you in here because we haven't been able to win any games here.'
awful beat best continue football games players red turn tyler win won
If you turn the football over, you turn them over for touchdowns or turn them over in the red zone, you're not going to beat anyone, ... Tyler is our leader. He's one of the best players we have on this team. He's won an awful lot of games around here and he'll continue to win an awful lot of games.
