defensive good offensive player
We signed, arguably, as good an offensive and defensive player as there was in New York.
defensive definitely game hope line playing run running struggled ways
The run game struggled but I hope that's because our defensive line is playing better. We have a ways to go running the ball. We definitely have to get a lot better at that.
defensive execute facing jason players taylor
We'd like to do some things, but I don't think we've got a Jason Taylor (Dolphins defensive end) on our team. And (Weis) will be facing the same thing. ... There are things we know about each other and what we'd like to try to do. Can the players go out and execute it? We'll see.
challenges defense defensive developing encouraged few guys line looked
As a whole, the defense looked good. A few guys really showed up to play today. Developing the defensive line is one of our challenges and I was encouraged today.
defending defensive gets seen talk team worry
No question, we've seen it all. There's nothing in there we won't have seen. But as a defensive coach, you can't worry about defending ghosts. You can talk all you want about a team and the way they do things, but it comes down to what gets done on the field,
adapted against charles combine defensive dominant helped himself line move nice pro quickly senior step tackle top worked
Charles really helped himself at the Senior Bowl, he was dominant against some of the top defensive line prospects. He's worked out well at every step of the way. He did well at the combine and at our pro day. We had to move him to tackle and he adapted quickly and made the most of it. He's going to have a nice career.
committed kids recruiting signing track trying weekend
We just had a big recruiting weekend and we have two more scheduled before signing day. We are right on track with where we need to be with all of the kids we have committed and the ones we are still trying to get.
behind fell force three turn
We fell behind early, but we were able to force three turnovers and turn them all into touchdowns.
expected good win
We expected to win this game, ... but it was still good to put it on the record.
backs backward game good involved last offense played running score spring springs start three throws today
I've been involved in springs where, the last week, you're going backward -- you go out for the spring game and the quarterback throws three interceptions, the running backs fumble and the offense doesn't score a touchdown. Then you start making excuses. But we played well enough today and did enough good things.
ball catch good protects
Rashad, in all the scrimmages we had, was very consistent. He makes good reads. He can catch the ball. He protects the ball well.
ball catch couple dropped missed needed pressure protect throws
We had pressure on the passer, we missed some throws, we dropped a couple of throws and we really did not throw and catch the ball and protect like we needed to.
against heads knew ohio penn situations
We went into situations where we knew it was going to be against Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State. But we didn't put our heads down.
both offense run
Both of their quarterbacks can run that offense well,
