I'm more than pleased, ... I feel great. I wouldn't use the word relieved, but this means so much to me to win this championship.
I'm more than pleased. I don't want to use the word relieved, because it means so much to win this championship, but it's been a tough week. To top this great season off with a win against the best players in the world, it just doesn't get much better than this.
You can never really win a tournament on the first day, but I feel sometimes there's a chance you can lose it by shooting a high score. So I'm very happy with this start. It was really the start I wanted.
They always have a great field in Phoenix. That's what makes it one of the best tournaments on the tour. I have some wonderful memories from playing in Phoenix, and certainly winning the last two at Superstition Mountain are included, so I'm looking forward to coming back.
This course is long for me to start with, and you put some wind and some firm greens, it made it really tough for me to get it close. It's an honor simply to come here. This is a great experience for me.
Luckily I had a little cushion, and at the end it seemed like I needed it, ... For me, a win is a win. I thought I played excellent the first two days. It's a tough golf course and a lot of things are shaping up for the end of year. So this meant a lot to me.
She's so close. It's just a matter of time when she is going to break through. The key really to winning your first is just you've really got to play your own game and trust yourself.
I felt good coming into the round. I was hitting the ball really well. I didn't really get off to the start I had in mind. I had difficulty scoring and then on the back nine, the wind picked up and it got really difficult.
I feel like I've been playing so well the last couple of weeks, ... I knew coming in here I had a chance to win this event for the fifth time. I've had it in the back of my mind. It only happens maybe once, so you have to take advantage of it.
I told my caddie today that I am in the position that I want to be in. That this is what I have been waiting for, to win my tenth victory. I said that I am going to do everything that I can do today and that nothing is going to stop me.
I still get butterflies on the first tee. I still get sweaty hands, and my heart pumps a lot going down the 18th. But I know what winning is all about now, and that's a feeling that I like.
I stay patient. I don't go out there and try to set a course record. That's probably one of my strengths and one reason I've been able to win major championships.
When I first came on tour, I was playing for money. Now I'm playing to win golf tournaments and the money is more than I ever dreamed I could make.
It seems like I get my second wind by the end of the year. I've had a nice little break after my trip to Europe. I played one event and I saw my coach the next week, so I feel like I'm ready to finish strong. I really do.
