I'm happy with my day. I made a lot of birdies and I made an eagle. I did make a few mistakes.
A few years ago, things were looking a little different and I had some different plans and different goals. Then it took a little bit of a spin, and I had to adjust, and here I am a few years later with a different outlook on life and some different goals at the moment.
Sometimes, it doesn't go your way. I hit a few bad shots, a few bad putts, and it just accumulated. Fortunately for me, I'm playing next week. I've got to forget about this as soon as I can.
I am in good position and I am looking forward to the weekend. Hopefully I can continue to hit it the way I have and just make a few more putts. Then I'll be happy.
I feel like I hit the ball pretty well, actually, ... I feel like I left a few strokes out there, but I drove (the ball) well, hit good iron shots, putted well (and) just felt connected.
I did miss a few in the middle of the round, but when you make some, it feels better,
Obviously, endurance is going to play a role, there's no doubt about it. It's a hilly course and you've got to be in good shape, especially if the temperatures are up there. If we get the humidity, it could be quite tough. Having said that, I'm glad that I've been working out the last few years.
I told my caddie, ?A few more rolls and it would have been a 2. I have never had a double eagle. That would have made my day for sure.
It's only Thursday; I have three more days. I'm looking forward to it. I still feel good about my game. Today it was almost. It was very, very close, but not really it. And right now, I don't really know what I've got to do to make it a great one, maybe make a few putts, maybe hit a few drives.
It wasn't that bad, but I made a few mistakes out there. It's been a hectic week as tournament host, but now it's all over and when I woke up this morning I thought now I'm inside the ropes and nobody's chasing me.
It wasn't the finish I wanted, but sometimes you just take what you've got. I was trying to make a few more birdies, but it didn't happen.
I love the challenge and I love coming down the stretch and making the shots you need to, ... It's just the extra excitement, knowing there are just a few holes left and having to hit the perfect shot. That's when all my adrenaline starts kicking in, on the back nine because that's when it matters.
I really did not play very well today unfortunately, ... I hit a few bad shots and it was a tough day at the office really.
I'm competitive and yeah, I was very disappointed in the way I played on Sunday. I played really good for three days and I made a few mistakes down the stretch. Of course I was disappointed in myself and wished things would have been a little different. This gives me a little bit more fire and maybe that's what I need for the rest of the season.
