ball contact good guy hit home last runs
This guy is a good contact hitter. He can put the ball in play. He hit 17 home runs last year. He's a good hitter, and he's a good infielder.
call home league
That's what you call a Little League home run.
home
If you don't want to play, go home -- but don't get paid, either.
ball brought furthest hits home might player run since six weeks
We've said it before, when Carlos Pena hits a home run -- wow! That might be the furthest ball ever hit in this ballpark. He's been a different player since we brought him up six weeks ago. He's a better player.

guy light sure
In light of how things are going, this guy is too valuable. We want to make sure that he's OK. Hopefully, it's just one start.
good middle pitches
I know some of them were good hitting, but I'd say there have been way too many pitches in the middle of the plate.
days five liked
I liked what I saw, ... We're going to see him five days from now.
guys initially latter normally
I'm reserving judgment, but normally I like to put (young) guys initially at the latter part (of the lineup), a kind of coattail,
hold smoked
That first inning was really a big inning. Dmitri smoked it. We couldn't hold 'em after that.
That first inning could have been something to get you going, ... But then it was, 'Ah! Here we go again.'
year
This is kind of the way our year has been,
