angels ballpark category credit everybody thinking
I think everybody in the ballpark was thinking 'could it happen?' ... but there's no category for almost. I give the Angels credit for being opportunistic.
brightest happen piece
I think he's the brightest thing to happen to us this season. He's a big piece of the puzzle.
season
I still think Carlos will play before the season is over.
I thought he was out, ... It was a reaction.
arguably best david easy guarantee players talking
It is easy to second-guess me, but it was my call. I'd like someone to give me a guarantee that David Ortiz wouldn't have done that to Nate Robertson. We're talking about someone who is arguably one of the best players in baseball.
games home seemed
We haven't had too many of these games lately. Carlos comes out right from the get-go with a home run, and it seemed to kind of snowball from there.
ask given run
We haven't given him a whole lot of run support. He's doing his job, I'll tell you. I can't ask for any more than the way he's pitched.
lessons talked
Those are lessons that we need to learn. I made my statement. I talked to him. It's over.
advantage given taken
We've given him an opportunity, ... but he's taken advantage of it. And it'll only make him better in the long run.
coming felt pitching somebody
Here is somebody pitching a shutout, but I felt it was the right way to go with Sweeney coming up.
ball believe mentioned poor seems throw
He (Rodriguez) even mentioned it. He can't believe it. From our view, it's a little low, but you could see the ball got away from the shortstop, it was a poor throw and he was safe. When you're going bad, nothing seems to be going right. It just doesn't look good.
credit deserve exit heck might obviously performance starting victory wondering
But it was a heck of a performance by our bullpen. Obviously it will be forgotten, but they deserve a lot of credit all the same. They had us wondering if something unbelievable (a 1-0 victory after a first-inning exit by a starting pitcher) might happen, but you know what, it didn't.
hit hot split swinging
Omar hasn't been swinging all that well. He's hit a lot of pop-ups. I still think Omar will get more of the time, but it's going to be split up a little more, and I'll go with the hot hand.
bad missing teams
So many times when you think that way, you make a bad pitch. And those other teams that we play aren't missing them. Flat-out. They're not missing them.
