I can't play anything until I find something that connects to my life, something I can carry as my secret map or code for the character.
It's nice getting to play a different version of yourself. You sign on for a show and think you're just going to play one character for however many years, so it's nice, for an actor, to have a little bit of fun.
I think it always makes for great television when two characters actually take time to realize that they want to be with each other. You have to leave it to the writers to know what makes great television.
An accent mark, perhaps, instead of a whole western accent -- a point of punctuation rather than a uniform twang. That is how it should be worn: as a quiet point of character reference, an apt phrase of sartorial allusion -- macho, sotto voce.
I don't try to intellectualize characters too much. But I always think of the audience. I always make sure that my characters are likeable.
Maybe at the core of me, I'm a survivor, but I don't do it on purpose. Sometimes, in acting of course with your performance, some of your own personal character seeps through. My performance goal has always been to perform for the audience. People pay their hard earned money, and so I always desire to give all of myself in every single scene.
In a way I feel completely frightened of dealing with other human beings at all, yet here I am sticking my face in front of a movie camera all the time.
I don't want to play fat cops for the rest of my life.
I love things where I can be physical and I so love high stakes, and you usually don't get that unless you're doing a play or an action movie.
I've dealt with a lot of guns over my career, so I'm getting better and better with firearms.
What Texas A&M beating Texas really means to me is it just confirms what I said all along - this league is not down. There are some awful good teams in this league.
We missed pretty much all of last week so we can use this week to get things straightened out and get caught up. That's the important thing.
We signed these kids early so this is not an evaluation. We're just here for support.
We expected to win this match. I'd like to believe the whole team feels we can win every match, but I don't know that. I'm not in their heads.
