I developed a routine where if I didn't get into the gym and shoot every day, it felt kind of awkward; it felt like I was letting myself down.
We thought that if we could beat Arizona, we could pretty much beat anybody. I was really pumped up.
I don't think anybody expected us to do much this year. That's something that drove us to do a lot more. We came out, we concentrated real hard and we got a 'W.
Every team I play is real physical. They have some big bodies, but it's nothing I've never seen before, and it's nothing I can't handle.
I think I could have learned a lot from Sean. He would have been a senior and he would have been a veteran to learn from. I could have gotten tips from him and learned a lot.
I think we just stayed within ourselves and didn't let any of the fans get to us. We got some turnovers and converted ... It is great.
I think that there was a lot of pressure on the freshmen coming in with some of the guys leaving, having to play some big roles and get thrown right into the lineup early. But I think that's over now. I think we have experience under our belt now.
I think that was real big. It was something that we stressed before the game ... it was something that we really focused on.
I was kind of surprised; I thought he'd be posting up the way he was for a couple of possessions before. But I saw him go up, and it looked like their guy (Swann) kind of fumbled the ball and was looking for someone to pass it to, and I stuck my arm out.
Over the last couple of games it's been real physical. We have games back really quickly and sometimes my body doesn't have time to recover all the way. Sometimes you have to play with little bumps and bruises.
I think I played well offensively. I think my game was in a flow. Definitely it was fun, especially in the second half when we started coming back and making the run and started stopping them defensively. I didn't have (records) in mind. I didn't even know I had that many points.
I didn't have any individual goals, but I would say it's a good accomplishment. I thought there were some things that I struggled with at the beginning. I tried to improve on those. With this team, I got a lot of experience early, and I think I adjusted well.
I expected to play well, but it's kind of shocking that I'm playing this well. I never expected, as a young guy, to come into the Dean Dome and drop 40.
He left a really goofy voicemail. I can't really explain what he said. He just screamed into the phone.
