area foot fresh gonna good taking
If there's one area I'm probably not very good at it, it's taking the foot off the throttle. I'm gonna do that a little bit. We just have to get them fresh again.
bad brown coming early forced goes good news
If Shannon Brown goes out early (for the NBA), and with (senior) Maurice Ager not coming back, because of need Isaiah could be forced to play earlier. That's good news and bad news.
bad foul guys half night played sync ways win
It was just too bad because I think we played well enough in a lot of ways to win the game, but we just couldn't get in sync half the night with guys out with foul trouble.
everybody games good iowa league lost moments
They've had moments when they've been real good and not as good, and so have we. They still have some vulnerability just like everybody in this league does. It was just two games ago that Iowa lost to Northwestern.
balance delicate players wanting
There's that delicate balance between wanting the players to feel like they can make a run, yet not making them feel that it's their right.
few late motivating playing position quite season sure ten
This is just as much a must-win for them. They've got to be hungry. They've never been in this position in quite a few years now, this late in the season playing for a Big Ten championship. I'm sure that's going to be motivating for them.
dual indiana teams threat
Not many teams have the dual threat that Indiana has. Ironically, I think at times we could be one of the teams that does.
appreciate assistant blame breaking deserve fights-and-fighting ncaa sure wants
The NCAA wants you to make sure nobody's fighting, and then they don't want you breaking it up. My assistant doesn't deserve any of the blame for that; I do. I didn't appreciate the double-technical because I didn't think that was deserved.
basketball build coast establish growing hurt moving ourselves question sites spot watching
After watching (Atlantic Coast Conference) basketball growing up, when they started moving that thing to different sites I thought it hurt more than helped. So that's the only question I would have. Do we need to establish ourselves in a spot and really build on that?
beating good helped indiana ten themselves week win
Iowa's good enough to win the Big Ten title. They've helped themselves this week by beating Indiana (Saturday) and us.
good happen kid plays
If you play hard, good things happen to you. And that kid plays hard.
affects confidence crowd games home road teams win
If you look at our home and road stats, they're enormously different. Most teams are different, but not enormously different. You get in a little slump, and you don't get the confidence of the home crowd and the home baskets and the home bed. Yeah, I think it affects you a little bit. I really, really do. But I also think you got to be big enough to win some of these games on the road.
ball beginning couple held lead played plays ran second seemed shots wore
In the first half, it seemed like most of the plays we ran went down, and we held them on 3-point shots after their first couple shots right at the beginning - and we rebounded the ball a lot. In the second half, we got the lead and played well enough, but there were a couple of stretches that wore us down a little bit.
evenings kicked nine
In my nine years, this is one of the more disappointing evenings I've had in this job. They kicked out butts inside.
