athletics breaking care coming competitor continue excited good great keeps perspective played position records remarkable takes tremendous verge work
First and foremost, he's an outstanding athlete. He has to be or else he wouldn't be in this position. He takes great care of himself. He's a competitor by nature. He has a great sense of humor, which I think keeps everything in perspective for him, good or bad. But, to play as long as he has played and to be on the verge of breaking these records is a tremendous accomplishment. For someone to be in a position that he's in and having done this for so many years and continue to be excited about coming to work every day and the opportunities he has is really a remarkable thing.
almost full played
He was a little sore. He hasn't played in almost a full season.
along difficult extremely happen phases played somewhere three today win
Usually if you win a game, two phases have played very well and, somewhere along the line, one of the phases is not able to, ... On a day like today when all three played extremely well - I don't want to say it's rare; I'd like to see it happen more often - but it's difficult to do.
bother coming exactly extremely focused knew noise played
Eli was extremely poised. He knew exactly what he was coming into, he was focused and he didn't let any of the noise or anything bother him. He played well enough. If we'd done some things on defense, he played well enough for us to win.
game good looking played start tim tried whether
For a long way into the game Tim played well, he did a lot of good things. Whether he tried to press, whether he tried to do more than he should have ... . I'm not disappointed in the way Tim played, but I was looking for a continuation of the kind of start he made.
awful east latter mind played question season washington
No question in our mind that we know what we are getting into in Washington this weekend. It's going to be an NFC East showdown game, played in the latter part of the season with an awful lot on the line.
concerned handled played plays
The last-minute adjustments, they handled it well. I was concerned with that. The way we played was solid, not spectacular. We made plays when we had to.
along difficult experience fortunate gone gotten great improved performed pressed rookie year
We're very fortunate to have Eli. We've pressed on through some difficult times his rookie year into this season. He's improved and gotten better as we've gone along here. We've gotten him great experience; experience under fire, obviously, and some very, very big games. And he's performed well.
expect prepared
We didn't know what to expect (with Collins) and we were prepared one way or another.
good hopefully performed player practiced surprised
There is nothing that has surprised me, because I think I know the player and he's practiced well and performed well in games. He's done a lot of good things and hopefully there are a lot more good things to come.
ball thrown
We had thrown the interception and didn't think we would ever get the ball back,
aware both game knew owners sure
We were very much aware of our two owners and their illnesses, ... We knew that this game was a very important game, that they both would be tuned in. And we wanted to make sure that they were smiling.
carolina earned game
Carolina is a tough, physical, well-coached team. We earned the right to play this game at home, and that is very important.
needed obviously plays
Nothing is ever easy. Obviously we had some big plays tonight, and we needed them.
