ability appealed comfort interview leadership level mike personal process stood
What stood out to me in the interview process was Mike's leadership ability and the comfort level that he and I had on a personal level. Mike is someone who is a tough, no-nonsense person. That appealed to me very much. And he is all about football.
future good
We feel very good about our future going forward.
agency attack broken bucks dangerous everybody fit free guys hate role spend waters
We're going to attack free agency just like everybody does. You try to find the guys that can fit a role for your team. (But) I've said this over and over, and I hate to be a broken record: I think it's very dangerous waters to go out and spend beaucoup bucks on someone from some other team.
compelled fill spot
We're going through our options, and we don't feel compelled to fill the spot right away.
bay brief circumstance difficult fine green job last maintained six tradition winning
It was a brief conversation. Naturally, he was disappointed. I thanked him for all he has done for the Green Bay Packers over the last six years. I think he's done a fine job under some difficult circumstances and maintained a winning tradition of the Green Bay Packers.
add eventually guy putting rather sure trying whoever
Rather than just putting another guy on the team, we're trying to make sure whoever we add will add something. We'll eventually find somebody. It may not be at (wide receiver).
decided stay turned
We had some conversations, and as it turned out, he decided to stay with Minnesota.
help looking somebody
We're working on a lot of things at a lot of positions. Obviously, we're looking to find somebody to help our team.
mike release stuff
I wasn't comfortable, first of all, in having to release Mike Sherman. I don't like to do stuff like that. I'm not comfortable. That's not my nature. I don't think it's anybody's nature.
answer everybody quite understand
I think, quite frankly, everybody would like to know what the answer is. It?s just not there yet. We understand that.
along answer communication decision everybody help high obviously profile quality quite understand whatever
I think, quite frankly, everybody would like to know what the answer is and I think Brett would especially like to know. It's just not there yet. We understand that. It's obviously a very high profile decision because of the quality of the player. We want him to play. But it's up to Brett and (his wife) Deanna to decide, to make that decision. Any communication we've had is just to try to do whatever we can to help him along in that decision- making process.
passion
I think he can still play, and I think he still has the passion to play.
follow guidelines hire intend nfl
We intend to follow all of the guidelines that the NFL has set up to hire coaches.
adds direction might particular position pressured somebody
We don't feel particularly pressured to do anything at any particular spot. Like with anything else, if we can find somebody that adds a little something to our team, that's the direction we'll go. You never know what position that might be.
