birdie chip difficult fortunate four good green nice score shot sneaky thinking three walk
The par-five I made a nice little five-foot birdie putt. That was a sneaky one down the hill. Then I chipped in from over the back of the green on six. It was a very difficult chip and it went in. That was a very fortunate shot there because I really was thinking four would be a good score to walk away with, so three was a bonus.
clean couple definitely fortunate good hit round score shots
I think that there was definitely a 6-under score had to be had out there by somebody. I was fortunate enough where my round wasn't clean and perfect, but there were enough shots where I hit it good enough to give myself opportunities and I had a couple of good breaks.
low seen shot strong trying wind
I would like to have shot lower, but it was pretty trying out there. The wind was as strong as I've ever seen it. You just weren't going to see a low score.
add amount best clubs driver gets guessing hit hoping lie maybe pull science shot swing versus wind yards
I hit driver down No. 9. I didn't have the best lie and I didn't have maybe the best swing at it, but I hit it pretty good. I hit it like 150 yards and that was a two-iron. Sometimes you're just guessing how many clubs you think you need to add to the shot versus the yardage. That's really what it is, guessing the right amount of wind and hoping that you pull it off. It's not a science when it gets like that out there.
accurate condensed fit golf hide holes last nine shots six tee
Everything is just so condensed here. You couldn't fit nine holes of golf on this place from last week's layout; not even that, six holes if you're lucky. It is very claustrophobic and small. So, you have to be more accurate. I haven't been accurate enough in tee shots and/or greens, but I've managed to hide that through scrambling.
holes left pack run running shots six tournament
You can't run away from the pack if you aren't running away from it. Running away would be six shots up with six holes to play. That would be pretty much a run away. There is a lot of golf, 25% of the tournament still left out there.
close doubt future home kept
We kept them close on the Americans' home soil. There's no doubt in the future we can take this thing out.
condensed feels
Everything feels more cramped and claustrophobic. Everything is so condensed and small, you have to be more accurate.
gap narrow totally
You can look at it as we have no chance, or you can look at it as we have something to prove, that we can narrow the gap the Americans have here. It's totally interpretation.
finishing rhythm
Finishing up was not a big deal. I would like to have had my rhythm going.
beach bunch few golf good likely pebble players playing separate tiger unheard
To separate yourself from a bunch of other very, very good players -- more than likely playing some really good golf -- is going to be very difficult. What Tiger did at Pebble Beach a few years back was unheard of.
certainly dose fair hit huge previous respect throw
Certainly a huge dose of respect you've got to throw at a lot of the putts downhill, even from 3, 4, 5 feet. Nothing you can hit aggressive. They've got a fair dose of speed, more than they had in previous years.
ball couple driving few greens hitting irons level months
I'm at a more competitive level than I was a few months ago, driving the ball better, hitting my irons better, hitting more greens and making a couple more putts.
course driver harder hit holes tried
There are some holes on the course that I tried to hit my driver harder than I hit it all year,
