There were a few things, obviously the big one was that since I was 16 and he was 15, we've been apart, but now we can be together again. The family can all come down.
If this will put a smile for a minute that will be good. That's tough work they're doing, long days. So we owe them a lot of thanks for the work that they do.
We're playing some good teams and the games are close, but no wins. It's not fun that's for sure. This is a good test, a good challenge.
That doesn't mean much now. We've got a tough opponent in the playoffs and we want to go out there and concentrate on beating those guys and perform as well as we can. We have to keep our focus and play our game. They're going to make it tough, so we're going to have to pay a bit of price in front of the net ù get into the corners and work hard.
I just think he's playing well. With the puck, he's making some nice plays. Sometimes they're simple plays, but a lot of times they're the right thing to do and the best play.
Being in the penalty box as much as we were is tough. But we've got to find a way to stay out and to do a better job of killing penalties.
He's ready to shoot, he knows what Thornton is out there to do and he knows what to do.
If I can't go they'll have work to do, another player will need to go and they need to get organized.
I knew their goalie was caught way out of the net, and I knew we'd have guys there. I was just trying to get it out front and I got a little bit of luck there.
The game was just like the last time in here. Both teams played pretty hard, pretty well defensively. We played better defensively than we had in the last few games. I just hope we realize that, and get ready for them again in a couple of days.
I'm surprised. I thought it would be just us out there ... but I underestimated Canadians a bit, I guess.
I got a lot of grief from my teammates about that. It might backfire on my mom. Hopefully, my brother will have another chance somewhere down the road.
Representing Canada as a hockey player is always a tremendous honor, which also comes with a lot of responsibility. Being able to compete and win a gold medal on our home soil made it a once in a lifetime experience. Capping off the best ever performance by not only the Canadian athletes, but also Vancouver and all Canadians, made for an amazing Olympic experience.
