against almost beating club detroit dressing everybody great hockey knew matched necessary obviously outside patches playoff prevail series surprise team tough
That's a great hockey team. Beating that team in a playoff series is obviously a great accomplishment for our hockey club and we know it's a surprise to almost everybody outside this dressing room. We knew we matched up well against Detroit and we were able to do what was necessary to get through some tough patches and prevail in the end.

They capitalized on the power play (5-9) and that's what kept them in the hockey game.

blame difference full hockey late lead smart turned
We have to play a full 60 minutes. Once we got the lead that late in the game, you have to do the smart things. I will take the blame on that one -- I did not get it deep, turned it over and it was in the net. Those are the things that make a difference in hockey games.
adversity believing depth fight game grit hockey intensity knowing throughout ways
The grit that we have, the depth that we have, the intensity that we have throughout the hockey game - that's crucial. It's believing and knowing that we can fight through a little adversity and find ways to win.
bit create drew front frustrated havoc maybe next surprised trying
Initially, maybe I wasn't surprised at his reaction. But then the next one I thought, 'What is he thinking?' I was just trying to create a little bit of havoc in front of the net. Obviously, that's my job. I drew him into another penalty, he got a little frustrated and we capitalized with another goal.
best bring care everybody mirror simplify team win
Each one of us has to look in the mirror and simplify things - do our little things that everybody in here does best and what makes you accountable to the team and bring that to the table. I don't care if we win 2-1 - just get the win in Colorado.
bad came played team
The big thing was we came back from a bad spell. We played more like a team and regained that focus.

It was great to see Ales get that goal when he did. And, wow, what a goal. I don't know how he does it.
lead sit
Once they get the lead they sit back even more. They sit back and play well defensively.
came front games guys help keeping matter settling
The new guys we got are settling in and everyone came up big tonight. Now, it's just a matter of keeping it going. We've got some big games in front of us and this (win) is going to help with the momentum, that's for sure.
change game incident might sure win
I'm not going to change my game because of an incident like that. I'm sure he might change his actions. He'll want to get a win out of here. He'll take that as motivation.
