We had some stops and shot well in transition. Miles moved around and hit some shots. We need the shooters to step up.

It's not necessarily about making every shot. It's playing extremely hard and I know that's a way to get the fans to cheer for us.

That run stands out a little more when you don't play hard in the first half. We should have been working the whole night.

It's nice to get a win against a team that was very quick and athletic. We got to evaluate some things, and we'll work on them tomorrow night and then in the fall when we start practice.

It was difficult because they took away Mark Patton early. We were able to get him the ball in the second half, but (in the meantime) we were able to hit enough three-pointers and we made free throws down the stretch.

We've relied on our effort level and our poise and we didn't have either one tonight. Our effort level in the first half was a big key. We did not have great effort and we needed to have great effort.

Our team doesn't read the papers, and I don't think our guys look for those things. I appreciate president Kopp saying what he thinks and we'll move on from there.
balance beyond chance duplicate effort gives great mix playing poise team tremendous win
They have great poise and when you mix poise with balance it gives you a chance to win every night. When you're playing a team with tremendous poise you have to have that yourself. We've got to duplicate that effort and go beyond that to get a win that's needed.
allow ball half line needed played second settled stretch
They're not going to allow you to set up what you're doing. We settled down in the second half and played much more effectively. We got to the line better but during that (first half) stretch we weren't able to get the ball where we needed to score.
glad good month start
This is an important month for us. I was glad we were able to get it off to a good start tonight.
hurt might next push second solve
Once you solve something, the next thing you see might be tougher. The second half, when we didn't push it up the floor, that hurt us. You want to make them move. When they get back and it's 5-on-5, it's tougher.
