fire great hitter
He's on fire right now. He's a great hitter in a great zone.
baseball fun goes heart intense wants win
He's pretty intense right now. No one wants to win any more than Johan. He's all about winning. That's why it's fun to have him on your baseball team. When he goes out there, you can see it in his heart that he wants to win for this baseball team.
ball feeling legs ran running says third
He's running around fine. He ran from first to third on a ball the other day and his legs are doing good. He says he's feeling good.
offence
I don't know if it was our offence or the flu.
coming goes move next
By next Tuesday, we should have a roster move with him coming back if everything goes well.
drive home learn pitch runs
Home runs are going to come. He'll learn to take a pitch and drive it out of the ballpark. We don't really need to tell him what to do.
decision hardest needs people taking
Honestly, the hardest part of the decision was taking him out. I think he needs to get in there and keep swinging, but you also know you need to use other people here and there, too.
confidence spring types work
He pitched so well in spring training, and he got out of a lot of those types of jams. So you're going to show confidence in him to get out of them, but it just didn't work out.
guys plays
He plays one position. He doesn't play the others. The other guys all play more than one position.
best mean pitcher telling win
If he doesn't win the Cy Young, it doesn't mean he's not the best pitcher in this league. I'm telling you right now -- he's the best pitcher in the American League, no doubt.
ball bounce crystal knew threw worked
If he knew it was going to bounce right back to the catcher, he'd have a crystal ball. They threw a ball away and it still worked out for them.
bench coming cover everyday mind outfield playing puts ripping starts
If he starts ripping the cover off the ball, that always puts a thought in your mind to keep him. Playing everyday in the outfield is a better thing for him right now, so one thing I don't want is him here coming off the bench and being a pinch-hitter.
hoping popping starts
If he starts really popping his pitches, then he could be ready. That's what we're hoping for.
bit consistent definitely growing happened last learn solid tries
If he sits back and tries to learn something from what happened last year, then he can definitely get going and have a little bit more of a solid year. Just being a little more consistent that would be better for everybody. But that's just a part of growing up.
