Every time I hear the anthem I think about her,
I was pitching 100 percent at this time of year regardless.
I was pitching 100% at this time of year regardless. It was my job after the guys came out and put the numbers on the board -- threw strikes, not walk anybody, get them back in and swinging the bat a little bit.
I was trying to find some rhythm after my last start, throwing my last two innings with just my arm, ... This time around I was trying to get the mechanics down and get good pitches, and I wasn't able to do it.
Winter is a terrific time to enjoy foods of fiber, color and flavor. These foods are rich in fiber, B-vitamins, minerals, and may contain good sources of protein.
You knew when it got late, Phil looked at me, ... There's been three or four times throughout the year he asked me how I felt I was swinging the bat or if got my spikes handy. I didn't think he was serious, and he probably wasn't. But the look that he gave me this time was very serious, and there was no kidding about it. And so I got out to the bullpen.
If I'm going to make a decision at all, that would be the time frame. I'm still enjoying what we did last year.
The reason why I ended up stopping over there was my showing him respect back. They took the time out to come to Houston and speak to me about the future.
I am disappointed that my 25 years in public life have apparently not earned me the benefit of the doubt, but I understand that Senator Mitchell's report has raised many serious questions. I plan to publicly answer all of those questions at the appropriate time in the appropriate way. I only ask that in the meantime people not rush to judgment.
Some of my finest memories are from my time at the University of Texas.
It's experience I guess, ... Sometimes, especially this time of year, you have to will yourself through some innings. I'm just real fortunate.
It took a lot of work from a lot of guys in this clubhouse. It made it worth the wait. It made it worth my decision to come back. Playing this time of year never gets old.
Some of my will is gone, ... But not all of it. You just look at things differently. Every time I hear the anthem, I think about her. I think about seeing her face for the last time and that's where I'm trying to draw my strength from.
I figured I'd get strike one on the kid with a fastball, 92, 93 mph, and he runs into it. So, of course, I was a little pissed. I said, 'OK, if that's the way it's going to be.' So next time up, I went in on him.
