bit change execution floor missed needed second shots sides
We didn't make shots. We missed shots the whole second half. I thought we needed to change sides of the floor a little bit more. Execution wasn't there.
five floor guys ourselves team took trust
There was frustration out there and we haven't had a lot of that this year. We took ourselves out of the game. We have to play better as a team. The five guys on the floor have to play better as a team and trust each other and we're not doing that right now.
draws effort floor goes good guy guys pushing quality says younger
He has a quality about him that draws other guys into it -- the way they play, the effort they put on. He's always pushing. He's pushing the younger guys, saying, 'That's not good enough.' When a guy says that and then goes out on the floor and does it, it has an impact.
came controlled floor guys hit marion offensive rattled
They'll let you back into the game, but they've been together. When you have Nash out there on the floor with Marion - especially Nash - those other guys were getting rattled and Nash came back in and hit a big shot. He controlled the offensive end.
came care floor fought hardly nine played presence saw
I don't know how he played and fought through that. If you saw him yesterday, he was hardly walking, and then he came out here (and played). He doesn't care that he had nine points, he had a real presence on the floor defensively.
break floor gives grows guy people team time willing
He's very willing to do that. He gives us something we really haven't had: A guy that can put it on the floor and break people down. I think we should give it some time and see how this team grows together.
brad mike playing struggle year
I've said all year if we don't have Mike and Brad playing well we're going to struggle.
appreciate blessed effort great happens last portland seven situations time
Each time one of those (milestones) happens you appreciate it more because you know when you look back how much effort went it. I have been really blessed to be in two great situations in Portland and the last seven in Sacramento.
attention detail efficient energy games guys halftime hurting last level offense passing paying playing seven teammates tonight trusting trying
Our energy level tonight was up. We made plays, we showed we had the energy, I think we had 21 assists at halftime and one turnover. Our offense was efficient tonight. We haven't been playing well these last seven games and our offense was the thing hurting us the most. Guys were trying to do everything on their own and we need to get back to trusting our teammates and passing the ball. We weren't paying much attention to detail in these last seven games, but we were better tonight.
both broken good guy looked shots
Both of those shots looked good for a guy with a broken thumb.
guys mixed people playing trying
Everything is so new. We're trying to get a sense of what guys can do. So far, they've responded. Every day we've mixed it up with people playing with different people.
attacking basket mike nice ron worked
Ron was attacking the basket and getting (inside). Mike was good, too. They worked well together. It was a nice all-around game.
chance control force great guard league playing ronnie shots stick trying work
Ronnie hasn't been trying to force the issue, he's playing under control. We know he can make shots and guard people, and he has a great work ethic. I think he has a great chance to stick in this league for a long time.
basket beat came james people ron shots somebody work
Ron made James work for the shots he got. We really wanted to have somebody in his way when he came off picks. We just didn't want him to get to the basket or get on any kind of roll. We wanted to make other people beat us.
