ability context earn encouraged felt guy provide scoring stepped within
I think he's had to earn that. He's a guy that has some ability, that we felt like if he stepped up could provide us with some scoring punch. We encouraged him to do that, but within the context of our team.
certainly context earn encouraged felt guy obviously provided stepped type within
I think he has had to earn that. We certainly felt like he was the guy we wanted to see do these type of things because he's a guy who has some ability. But he has stepped up and provided some scoring. I obviously encouraged him to do that, but within the context of our team.
felt game great guard half played rebound tonight win
We felt to win the game tonight we'd have to rebound with them, we'd have to really guard them and we'd have to make some shots. I think the first half we really played great defense. ... We did not play well offensively.
felt game living loss painful
As painful as this loss is and as much as you think, 'Hey, this is a game that we felt we had won,' we can't be living in yesterday. We've got to go forward.
felt guys implies playing upsetting
I wouldn't even characterize it as benching. That kind of implies he was doing something that was upsetting me. He wasn't playing well. I felt like there were other guys who were playing better.
absolutely against basketball best expect felt gave great opportunity start thomas
I felt like that gave us the best opportunity to win. There are no after-affects. I absolutely expect Thomas to start and play great basketball against Baylor.
effort redeeming stunned
The only redeeming thing about it is it's the first game. I'm stunned with our effort and togetherness.
block last learned learning stuff
We're still learning how to win. If there's one thing I've learned to do the last two years, it's to block stuff out.
certain games guy meets practice standards
We've got certain standards in practice and in games and we'll play the guy that meets those standards consistently.
clearly defensive good naturally pride quick stance taken walking
I think he's terrific. He's got such a good base. You look at some guys, when they get in a stance they look like they're as comfortable in a defensive stance as they are walking around. He's strong, and he's real quick laterally. It comes naturally to him. It's clearly something that's important to him, something he's taken a lot of pride in.
character coach easy game oklahoma program state team type
I thought Oklahoma State was terrific. They showed the type of character that their team has, their coach has and their program has. This was not an easy game for anybody.
against error large margin
Our margin for error is not really large for any game. And against these guys, it is even smaller.
bit breaking good happy lift marshall played reason since
I was really happy to see Marshall play as aggressively as he did on the glass. I thought that was a big lift for us, and that's the one reason he scored, too. We've got to have better play from him. It's good to see him kind of breaking through a little bit since he hasn't played as well as of late.
I was not as hands-on as I think I need to be.
