second youth
We showed our youth in the second half. We didn't have the same intensity.
felt game great guard half played rebound tonight win
We felt to win the game tonight we'd have to rebound with them, we'd have to really guard them and we'd have to make some shots. I think the first half we really played great defense. ... We did not play well offensively.
accomplish beat clearly coming game humility illinois ourselves remind
There's humility all over our program. We've been through a lot coming back from the Illinois game getting beat like we did. We don't need to remind ourselves of that every day, but that's clearly in the back of their minds. And these guys, they're hungry. They want to accomplish something.
again beat create fog learn time understand
As much as we can take from this and understand what we didn't do well and learn from it, that's got to be where it goes. Any time you get beat like this, it's like a big win. You can't let it create a fog because you play again Saturday.
game guys heart incredible quit regulation
I told our guys before the game I thought this was going to be a game about heart and we just had incredible, incredible heart at the end of regulation to be down like that and not quit playing.
affects game hype needs
It probably affects the surroundings more, but I don't think this game needs any more hype for our team. It's Kansas, that's enough.
happen time
It's not time to panic, but it can't happen again.

It starts with an attitude, like a desire, kind of an appreciation for the fact that there's a right way to play, ... I think when you don't make the extra pass or you take a bad shot or you are selfish ... you have to hate that about yourself.
against beyond defend perception
It's about being beyond the perception of reproach, where you're able to defend yourself against innuendo.
brutally capable good honest past relative respond week
I've been pretty brutally honest with him this past week about the way I think he's been playing, especially relative to what he's capable of doing. It's good to see him respond the way he did.
character climb difficult holes locker matter might room seen teams turning
No matter how difficult it might be, there's a lot of character in that locker room. I've seen teams climb out of holes and there's no one in that locker room that is turning their back.
felt game living loss painful
As painful as this loss is and as much as you think, 'Hey, this is a game that we felt we had won,' we can't be living in yesterday. We've got to go forward.
figure game games kids left life
With a game like today, you feel that life has just ended. But there's more games left to play. I've got to figure out how to make my kids get better.
almost attacking ball block few games huge last maybe mental obviously passing people saw shot zone
We shot the ball pretty well in the first few games last year, and then I think we almost got a mental block when we saw zone. Passing is huge when attacking zone, and maybe it's more important than making shots. Obviously when you make shots, people don't zone you.
