balls care double field fly ground missed skills taken work
We got on the field and got some work done, a lot of ground balls and fly balls. We got those skills taken care of today. We missed our fundamentals but we'll still be able to double up (today) and get back on track.
guys home sent
We sent him home because we didn't want him around the guys today. We think he's going to be OK.
looked send town
We send them (Marlins) out of town with no change. After those first two games, it looked bleak.
figure game gets gives guy nice ninth rotation start team threw won year
Was that his ninth win? That's pretty good. You've got a guy who didn't figure in your rotation at the start of the year and when he gets in he's won more than he's lost, so that's pretty good. He pitched a nice crisp game tonight. He threw strikes, he gets ahead. That gives a team a lift.
anyone case game realize
Tomorrow's game is the most important we'll play all season, in case anyone didn't realize that.
good grinding guys huge job last marvelous offense pitching pressure saying six super time today
Wandy did a super job today and that was huge for us. Our pitching has done a marvelous job the last six games. You have to feel good any time they pitch, but I'd like to see our offense come around a little. The guys are grinding and by me saying this, it'll probably put more pressure on them.
baseball bounce mind question tough
Tough loss, no question, but we've still got a lot of baseball to play. No question in my mind that we'll bounce back and play well.
bit close dance everybody houston involved lived played since wonderful
We are Houston fans, ... and since I've played there, we've lived there. For us it's long-suffering. Forty-four years of getting close and not getting to the big dance has been a little bit frustrating, so this is a wonderful accomplishment for our city, for our organization, everybody who's been involved with it.
takes
We'll get that straightened out. Sometimes it takes us a while to get them on track, but we'll get them on track.
moves
We'll make the moves we always make. We'll pinch-hit, we'll double-switch, we'll defensively make moves.
basically deal everybody great hope learn managerial piece style
You learn a piece of it basically from everybody that you play for. I would hope that my managerial style is a great deal like Chuck. He's my mentor.
aggressive seem strike
We didn't seem aggressive in the strike zone.
holding waiting
We're not waiting for him. We're not holding back.
bat chopped great guy liver surgery swung talking
We're not talking about chopped liver here. Yeah, he had surgery and he's not swung the bat like we know Bagwell has in the past, which is with power. But he's still a guy that's going to give you a great at-bat, and he can get you a great at-bat when the game's on the line.
