We went ahead and took the guy we could get. If the opportunity presents itself to get a quality, young quarterback in the draft, we will do it.
To be honest, I didn't even get a chance to watch the game. We came back from practice and watched film on our practice, so I didn't get to see any of the game. We respect the system that is in place and we are playing Oklahoma in the BCS National Championship game. It's a tremendous opportunity for our program and right now all we are focused on is getting our players ready to play Oklahoma.
You don't control whether you can go up or down sometimes. It's not something that you can just do because you want to. What is available to you may have some impact on what you decide to do if you did have an opportunity to do it.
John St. Clair will probably get an opportunity to play someplace else. We certainly wish him the best and in a lot of ways we would like to have him on our team again, but that may not happen.
Gus has a good understanding of the offense. He's very knowledgeable, and we felt he would give us the best opportunity to be successful and develop this offensive team.
Gus has a good understanding of the offense, he's very knowledgeable. And I think (he) can manage the game the best with a pretty young offensive team right now. . . . We weren't displeased with the job any of the quarterbacks did, but we felt that Gus would give us the best opportunity to be successful.

If we can get it worked out, maybe he will have the opportunity to play. If he can't, we will have his services later.
My focus is on trying to get our players in the best position we can to have an opportunity to be successful. The other stuff is pretty minor.
We want to pick the quarterback that's going to give us the best opportunity to win. I'm not prepared after watching that game to make a statement about that.
The No. 1 thing is we want somebody who is going to manage the game and give us the best opportunity to be successful. We were going to make the decision based on this position based on who we felt would give us the best opportunity to win, and managing the game is a really important part of that.

It was a good opportunity for us to go out and practice in not so favorable conditions, and that may benefit us someday down the road.
It's something we need to continue to evaluate. It seemed the entire pre-season whichever quarterback has played second has played best. It's the second week in a row we gave Gus the opportunity to start, and A.J. has come in and done a nice job in both of those games in the second half.
