I am surprised that I keep getting asked the same questions that I have been asked for the last six months and I keep answering them the same way,
Last year was a mountain climb -- we were fortunate to be able to plant the flag at the top of the mountain and win the national championship, ... This year, we have won zero games. We are at base camp at the bottom of the mountain looking up at the climb. And it will be very difficult.
My last conversation was awhile back and was really about our heritage, trying to figure out where we came from and what we did,
With such a demanding schedule, it's also important that we improve as the season progresses and develop the kind of team chemistry that will allow us to play winning football and finish strongly as we did last year.
Donnie has done a good enough job, especially in the last game,
We felt like he did a good job in going in and playing significantly in the last game when Jason got hurt. There is nobody disappointed in his performance. That's where you have to be careful about stats. How many opportunities did he have that he didn't make? That would be a better assessment of what he has or hasn't done.
We are not in the playoffs, but it was not all in vain. This group was a team for the last six weeks of the season, for sure.
This is not really about me at all. I'm really pleased for the players. These players have suffered a little bit over the last year. I think that they all wanted to prove something, and I'm just happy that we could help them accomplish that.
We looked at him last year, quite a bit. Kelly's a smart, experienced quarterback. He's very capable of managing a game and doing what they need him to do to have success and it will be up to us to execute what we have to, to try to stop it.
He was the number one guy last year and I think he did pretty well. He didn't do anything to make us think that he couldn't do it.
The last couple of days I've seen it in a lot of guys' eyes to the point where you really have a lot of compassion.
If Florida State had a workout last week that ends up on there, I can pull it up and look at it and watch those particular players, even though they may not have been on there two weeks ago when I looked at those particular players at that time.
In the last two games the quarterback has been affected by what has happened around him,
I'm really pleased for the players. These players have suffered a little bit over the last year or so in terms of things not going so well for them, ... I think that they all wanted to prove something.
