We're doing a little better job of getting pass rush with four guys and affecting the quarterback lately.
Sometimes when you press, you have high anxiety, and it affects the way you perform.
We have some players that I think don't play with the kind of confidence that I would like to see, ... It affects their ability to make plays.
Typically, people who can score touchdowns or create big plays, whether they affect the quarterback on defense or make the plays down the field, are guys that have a little bit more impact.
If we don't have an agreement this year, obviously it's going to affect the cap in an adverse way in terms of what's available to spend on players.
We respect that, as long as it's taking into account the balance of how it's affecting the player.
My only feeling is that the situation and the circumstance that created this whole thing is unfortunate for a lot of people. I think that it is unfortunate for the Saints that they have to go through a lot of changes to do what they have to do, but probably, more importantly, the fans and all of the people affected by this tragedy.
He sets a good example. He's a hard worker, a great person, a good guy. He tries to do everything that you want him to do. ... I think that his energy level and his example certainly affect other people.
In the last two games the quarterback has been affected by what has happened around him,
We tried to put ourselves in a position that that wouldn't be a factor for us right now.
We tried to create a little bit of an identity as a team today. I'm proud of the effort that we put in and the way we persevered and overcame adversity. The big thing that this team did today was they had a little tenacity, a little perseverance. And I think that's something you definitely need in this league relative to the competitive balance and what you have to do to win games.
We just want to continue to be able to let them develop and progress. We're not disappointed in anybody. We're actually encouraged by our ability to throw the ball with consistency in the game by all the quarterbacks.
What's the occasion? ... Like I don't know.
We lost two great players who were part of a dominating front, ... Young players are going to determine the depth and quality of the kind of defensive team we're going to have.
