football intelligence level parts poise three trying win
When you're trying to win a playoff-caliber football game, you need to have all three parts play at that level. Not only the level of play-making ability, but also the level of poise and the level of intelligence or smartness.
center football played pushed second turned type winning
No, he didn't get pushed back. I think he just turned around and made the tackle, our center did. I don't think we played any type of winning football offensively, especially in the second half.
winning games victory
I've always learned when you win a game, no matter what the stats look like, you have to enjoy the victories because they are hard to come by.
accepting battle best certainly chance coach friday gives head morning played player starting sure team win
He's not very happy. Would you be? You're in a heated battle to win a starting job. You get told by your head coach in the morning that you're going to be a backup. I thought he played well Friday night, but this gives us the best chance to be successful. As a team player I am sure he is accepting it. I'm certainly sure he doesn't like it.
against carry future guys increased mentioned next players role standing team victory whether winning year
All the guys I've mentioned are playing. I'd just like to see a little more increased role with them to see if these young players can actually carry us to victory against a team with a winning record. Because they are the future of this organization, whether I'm standing here at the podium next year or someone else is.
four history home losing met selling super
What history? What tradition? Losing four Super Bowls? Not selling out at (former home stadium) Met Stadium?
addition blessed continue hope hurt juice sam stay
To play (middle) linebacker, you have to have the awareness. The inconsistency we had at linebacker was going to continue to hurt us. We still think Sam Cowart has got some juice in those legs. I really like the addition of Sam. I just hope we're blessed enough to have him stay healthy.
certainly good heat monitor step sure top
Yes, I think it's a good thing. If what we think about the heat is true, we're very on top of it. ... Certainly we want to make sure that we monitor it every step of the way.
against good perfect playing rod run start team type
Rod is a really good run stopper, ... Playing against a run team, Rod is going to be in his element. If Rod had to start, this is the perfect type of team for Rod to start against.
guys nature pride prove redemption sam ted tremendous wanting
Redemption is good. All of us by nature have tremendous pride in what we do. We not only have Ted and Sam wanting to prove themselves, we have some other guys who want to prove themselves.
guy johnson media moments personnel
Marcus Johnson is our guy. We all have to understand, as coaches, ownership, personnel department, fans, media is that when we put a young guy in there he is going to have some moments where he struggles.
frankly happy quite
It doesn't make things any simpler, ... and quite frankly I'm not happy about it.
earn four hard hopefully league love proved worked year
I think this year that I proved that I worked hard for four years to earn my stripes, and hopefully there will be other organizations around the league that will see it that way. I love to teach. I love to teach.
address answer maybe morning proceed questions state team visit
I will go out in the morning and visit with everybody, answer the questions that I am asked. Maybe give a state of the team address if they ask, proceed from there and go back to work.
