When we have good puck possession, we're close to one another and it's all short passes and puck support, and you work your way up the ice.
We have a week or so, and these four games should be good for us. We need to get our lines going, and we need to get on a roll before we get to the playoffs.
You can't complain about it for us. I didn't think we'd be in that many shootouts. It's been really exciting for the players and the fans. I don't think anybody really knew how good it would be.
It's a good time to start playing well, personally and collectively. Guys are starting to feel that excitement.
Whether its three, four or five seasons that I have left to play, I'm committed to making them great ones.
We're still having squeaky-type games but we've pulled them out in the end. It's been tough to score goals, especially when you're playing on the road but we were pretty opportunistic tonight.
Overall, it's great to get back on the ice,
I think there's a part of him that cares. He's always been one of the top defensemen and he's always played so well, that I think you just take him for granted because he's so dependable and so good. But, yeah, I think more people should know about him.
We need to address some things that will get us ready for Monday. That's obviously a must-win for us now, so we have to get our game going. That's a great team over there and we better get better soon.
Those guys are quick and they move a lot, and I think that helps us. And you can tell they're excited to be out there. It just gives us a different option.
I'm sure he's looking forward to that responsibility, that competition. He feels he's done enough in the regular season, but great players are remembered by how they do in the playoffs.
Even with the way the last season went, I still love this game -- maybe even more than I did when I first broke into the NHL,
It's something I've known I was creeping up on. It's been fun chasing these numbers and breaking records. I'm fortunate enough to be around long enough to accumulate those numbers and have great players around you to reach those goals.
It's a must-win for us. That's how we have to approach it.
