ask beat coming either guy happened missed played reason sad situation time
For me, it's a pretty sad moment, because I played for Jimmy. He's always been a part of my coaching, the reason being he's a guy who has been through every situation imaginable. Any time something happened on or off the court, he would either beat me to coming to ask him what I should do, or I'd be going to him anyway. That's the reason why he's going to be missed so much.
advantage almost ball beat giving jump pushing shot shots taking talk
They shot almost 59 percent. We always talk about giving up jump shots and that's really what they beat us at; a jump shot game. That's their game, pushing the ball up the floor, taking advantage of mismatches, and doing the things they do.
beginning good knowing last played run tried
They tried to run us from the beginning knowing that we played last night. They did a good job. We did get back into it late, but were never really a threat.
attention beginning detail ready
a lot of things ... about energy, getting out and being ready to play from the beginning. From the start, our attention to detail was great.
game great paid understanding win
It's great for us to win a game like this. Understanding the game is not over when we were down really paid off for us.
ability break few guy guys post shoot
It's unfortunate when a guy who could play like that and have the ability that he had is not be able to play. He was one of the few guys who could shoot the three, break you down and post up.
chance happened nba people rely stranger teams
It's unfortunate that we have to rely on other teams to try and give us some help. But stranger things have happened in the NBA where people get a chance to get in.
ball came floor game knew last night overtime played pushing running
They knew we played an overtime game last night. They came out pushing the ball and running the floor to keep us on our heels. That game was embarrassing for me and it was embarrassing for the players. It was an embarrassing loss.
ball balls game gave good hard last played putting shots three
They made shots and then started putting the ball in Carmelo hands, especially when they gave him the ball during the last play of the game where he was able to get a basket. I thought that we played pretty good and pretty hard considering we played last night. Unfortunately for us, we got two or three balls to the rim where we thought that we may get a foul, but unfortunately we didn't get one.
foul game missed opened
They opened the game up with some threes. I think it was a five-point game, we had two foul shots, we had a missed dunk, and it opened up after that.
controlled covered guys obviously paint
They obviously rebounded the ball, controlled the paint and covered for each other. Those two guys had a lot to do with our defense.
energy game push tempo threatened type
They don't usually push that type of tempo for 48 minutes, but they did to have us expend some energy. We got back in the game a little bit, but never really threatened enough to have a chance.
move team veteran
They had 30 assists and we had 11, and that's not going to work. They look like a veteran team when they move the ball, and we look like a team that has to get better.
allowed cut defensive eventually lead plays several win
There were several plays where we had lapses on the defensive end that allowed them to cut the lead and then eventually win the game.
