I don't know. We've got the Pro Bowl coming up, and maybe that will help get that bad taste out of our mouth. But right now this is tough to swallow.
My teammates and I have just seen a glimpse of what it would be like to win a world championship. And as hard as it is right now -- 'cause it's hard right now -- we know what needs to happen to get it done, and I can promise you that we are all going to do everything we can do to get it done next year. Thank you for your support this year!
We just weren't that good. The product on the field wasn't very good, and that is a frustrating thing.
It's ironic because protecting the ball was my No. 1 priority going into the game. (That) interception, I had in my mind to throw it away.
The Pro Bowl. But I don't feel like playing right now.
Having Darrell back is big. He adds a little something to our offense. He's very quick. He's very explosive. He's been the most productive receiver ever since I've been here, and even before that. To have him as another weapon on our offense is big.
Once I had this horrible start my first year as starter, and he sat down during the game and told me about this horrible game he had in 1997 against the New York Jets, but still went to the Pro Bowl. He didn't have to be the guy that he was.
He's a Pro Bowler now. He's so big-time that he's hogging interviews.
He's a pro and he worked hard. And I give him a lot of credit. We asked him to do a lot. He came through when we needed him.
I'm really proud of the way our team played this year. Sundays are very, very fun.
We just had opportunities to score touchdowns, but we didn't score touchdowns. We were moving the ball fine, rhythm, time of possession, first downs, yards...we just couldn't score touchdowns.
We were really focused on the task at hand rather than, 'Oh, my gosh, we're in this big game.
We went 8-0. We were the team that never punted. You can go back and see the trophy. It's printed on there.
It was tough. There was a lot of stuff I'd never been through. I'd never really been the guy. I'd never had to play through injury. I really had never played in the NFL.
