chicago due eat far motivated pitching spot
I'm motivated because I'm pitching in a big game, ... The Chicago factor, with all due respect, doesn't faze me other than I know where I'm at, I'm in a comfortable spot as far as getting something to eat tonight.
against chicago city cool cubs pitching
It's kind of cool going back to Chicago for the series, but it would be a little different if I were pitching against the Cubs at Wrigley (Field), ... (I'm) just going to a city that I'm really comfortable in.
extremely
I'm extremely disappointed. I was terrible. I stunk.
again behind came defensive good great nixon people plays pole time today underrated understand
I had some great defensive plays behind me. I've said it time and time again, Trot Nixon is about as underrated an outfielder defensively as you can get. People don't understand how good he is, especially at Wrigley with the Pesky Pole and everything else. Once again he came up with a great play today that will probably get overlooked.
bad hit threw
It's disappointing. No excuses. I pitched bad. I threw bad pitches. They hit them.
deep extra games guys helps people playing time
Any time you can go deep into a game, especially when you're playing so many games in a row, it helps those guys out in the bullpen, ... Being that it's September, there are a lot of people who need the extra day's rest.
great pitches pitching short
They made big pitches when they had to and Long made a great catch. We were a little short on pitching tonight.
history hopefully resilient team
This team is pretty resilient, ... Their history is being pretty resilient and hopefully that will be the case.
again time
Every time he's been in there he's pitched his butt off and he did it once again today.
clutch hits seen teams three win
I've been on teams for three years and I haven't seen as many clutch hits as he's had this year. If that's not enough to win the MVP, I don't know what is.
battle ready worked
It was unfortunate the way it worked out but you've got to get ready to battle again.
anyone area hurt major point pray sick somebody sooner works
You never want to see somebody sick or hurt or to the point where it's a major surgery, especially something that he's already had done with his hip, in an area that can linger. I just pray that everything works out for him and we have him back here sooner than anyone thinks.
coach expect pitching problem
I don't expect it to be a problem or anything that's an issue. I think (Nipper) kind of comes out of Wally's mold, in a way. To me, a pitching coach is more of a psychologist than a pitching coach.
baseball healed health healthy help worry
More important is him and his health and his family, not baseball. Let's get him healthy and get him healed up, then we'll worry about when he's going to come help us pitch.
