criticize good people
I think people criticize his hitting, but this guy's as good as you're going to get at shortstop.
attacking felt good nice results team
I felt good. I was attacking the hitter. It's nice to have good results and keep this team in the game.
good pitching problem
Having a lot of pitching is usually a good problem to have because you're usually going to need it at some point.
against ball best good hitter leave plate supposed
He's an All-Star - probably the best hitter in their lineup. He's a good hitter, and you can't leave a ball up over the plate against him. He did what you're supposed to do with that pitch.
again behind came defensive good great nixon people plays pole time today underrated understand
I had some great defensive plays behind me. I've said it time and time again, Trot Nixon is about as underrated an outfielder defensively as you can get. People don't understand how good he is, especially at Wrigley with the Pesky Pole and everything else. Once again he came up with a great play today that will probably get overlooked.
bullpen good
How good has the bullpen been all year? They've been awesome.
good guy helped job people pole seen struggle tremendous underrated weird
The guy is very underrated defensively. In Boston, he does such a good job with the Pesky Pole and that weird right field, and you've seen people struggle out there. Today, he made another tremendous play and helped us out.
history hopefully resilient team
This team is pretty resilient, ... Their history is being pretty resilient and hopefully that will be the case.
again time
Every time he's been in there he's pitched his butt off and he did it once again today.
coach expect pitching problem
I don't expect it to be a problem or anything that's an issue. I think (Nipper) kind of comes out of Wally's mold, in a way. To me, a pitching coach is more of a psychologist than a pitching coach.
baseball healed health healthy help worry
More important is him and his health and his family, not baseball. Let's get him healthy and get him healed up, then we'll worry about when he's going to come help us pitch.
balls control execute left maybe needed pitches plate strike supposed zone
Maybe it was control in the strike zone today, ... I left a lot of balls over the plate and they did what you are supposed to do with balls over the plate. I didn't execute the pitches the way I needed to, and they didn't let me off the hook.
happen hope pitch works
Let's hope it works out where we don't have to even think about that. There's more combinations that can happen where I don't pitch Monday.
deserve five
When you come out after five innings, you kind of feel like you don't deserve it (the win) sometimes,
