At my first press conference announcing that I was playing the game again they asked me who do you want to play that you haven't played before, and I'm like 'Of course, Maria' because she's a player that's gotten to the top winning Wimbledon at 17. I was just interested. I love playing her and hopefully we'll have many more matches.
I enjoy being back. Just every tournament is a new one, and right now I really am happy to be playing and at that level again.
She is a solid player, the one to beat in tomorrow's final. I lost to a great player today. She is playing her best tennis. However, I wouldn't say that I am playing bad tennis. I am improving with every outing. I know there are certain areas in which I can improve.
I've exceeded my own expectations and am happy to be playing good tennis once again.
It takes me a little while to read, but I just really like playing here. In the past I had really good results, so those memories are kicking in as well.
It took me three years to recharge my brain and my body and hopefully I can keep playing like this.
It seemed like it was a long time ago, like a lot of things have happened to me. Walking back on the stage where you've been so successful, it's a lot of pressure on you. But you also know you've had a lot of success in the past, playing the finals here over and over. Tonight, it worked, and all I can say is it feels great to be back out there.
There is no doubt Amelie is the best player in the tournament. I am playing well and I am not too disappointed with my loss.
Playing the top players you have to play them over and over. You have to start believing and step by step I'm getting my confidence back.
Looking at the draw, I kind of prefer playing someone like tonight where I know who I'm facing on the other side.
I just really like playing here. I've always had good results here and those memories kick in as well.

In general, when you look at girls in the academies, they are just not taught that way. I think it's just because they're always so one-sided, playing with their coach or playing with their hitting partner. And you know, just boom, boom, boom all the time. I think it's also the problem of the coaches or parents, because they don't teach them different. I don't think it's (because of) the girls, because I think if you show them how to do it, how it's done, I think a lot of them, they would use more skill.
I've played a lot of tennis this week and I'm not used to that.
