fun score sure time
I don't get too many goals. Every time I score I have to make sure I celebrate. It was fun tonight.
aches blocking body hard keeps leads morning plays sure wakes works
He works so hard on every shift. He keeps battling, blocking shots, he just plays so hard. I'm sure his body aches every morning he wakes up. But he just leads his team. It's pretty to watch.
andy effort played stay
Andy played well. Our effort was there. We battled hard, but we've got to stay disciplined. We've got to stay out of the box. We didn't do that. That's the new NHL. It was too bad.
mistakes nashville shots tonight
At Nashville we weren't that bad. We had 40 shots on goal. But we made a lot of mistakes. Tonight we were more stingy.
caught effective guys puck scared stingy
We were stingy and more effective defensively. Guys were scared to get caught in the zone, and that was good. We wanted to get the puck out.
basics effort factor hard simpler
Obviously, we wanted a better effort and we wanted to play smarter. We need to go back to basics and play a simpler game. Frustration is a big factor and hard to control, but we have to find a way.
argument deal nobody
We had a little argument. We weren't on the same page. It was no big deal -- just a fight, and nobody got hurt.
adjust percent rules teams toughness
We were one of the teams that didn't adjust with the new rules. The NHL is going to be about 30 percent toughness now and 70 percent skills.
bounce good test
We have to bounce back. It's going to be a good test in Detroit.
beat build game red wings
This was a big game for us. We have such a young team. To beat the Red Wings is something we can build on.
against calling calls couple held kyle missed phantom tough
It's tough to kill 5-on-3s. There were a couple of phantom calls (not whistled against Vancouver) when we're up 3-0, and they missed a call on Kyle Calder being held at 4-4. If you're calling it, keep calling in at the end like you do at the start.
goal good guys level played raised seems team time tonight wasted
It seems every time we've played a big team, we've wasted a challenge. Tonight we played a good team and raised our level of play. Our goal tonight was to keep it simple. Our guys didn't quit.
win
It wasn't a pretty game. We said before the game, if we win 1-0, we win 1-0. As long as we don't give 'em any chances.
power seems win
It seems we couldn't get anything going. In this league, if you can't get your power play going, you won't win games.
