apparently missed period power took
In the second, we took a lot of penalties, and they cashed in. We can't take a period off. Then we took that penalty, apparently because of some missed coverage, in overtime. That was a big power play.
attention basic paying simple took
I just took a whack at it. It comes down to basic plays, simple plays. We were paying attention to the details.
andy effort played stay
Andy played well. Our effort was there. We battled hard, but we've got to stay disciplined. We've got to stay out of the box. We didn't do that. That's the new NHL. It was too bad.
asked beer
It was a draw. He's pretty feisty. I asked him if he'd still go for beer and dinner, and he said, 'No problem.
anybody beat consistent guys shows team tonight win
It's a big win. Obviously, we're not in the playoffs, but a win like that shows the guys we can play with any team when we play our system. Tonight we executed well our system. Very consistent for 60 minutes. It shows the guys that when we do that, we can beat anybody in the league.
power seems win
It seems we couldn't get anything going. In this league, if you can't get your power play going, you won't win games.
against calling calls couple held kyle missed phantom tough
It's tough to kill 5-on-3s. There were a couple of phantom calls (not whistled against Vancouver) when we're up 3-0, and they missed a call on Kyle Calder being held at 4-4. If you're calling it, keep calling in at the end like you do at the start.
goal good guys level played raised seems team time tonight wasted
It seems every time we've played a big team, we've wasted a challenge. Tonight we played a good team and raised our level of play. Our goal tonight was to keep it simple. Our guys didn't quit.
win
It wasn't a pretty game. We said before the game, if we win 1-0, we win 1-0. As long as we don't give 'em any chances.
