coach game gems guys harder knows nice opportunity perfect players playing rewarded
It is a little harder now, because every coach knows about players, and there aren't many gems who get overlooked. But this game was a perfect opportunity to see what other players could do. It is nice to see these guys get rewarded with playing time.
coach goal learn perfect prepared year
Your goal is to coach the perfect game, and to have all your players, play the perfect game. That first year is difficult. You can never really be prepared for it. You are going to make mistakes. You just have to learn from those mistakes.
needed playing tough
We were playing with a sense of desperation, which is what we needed after some tough losses.
conference finish northeast picked supposed
We were picked to finish 10th in the league. So, we weren't even supposed to even be in the Northeast Conference Tournament.
execute execution happen home road
We have to execute better on the road if we are going to win. You can get away without execution at home sometimes, but that can't happen on the road.
ability adds certainly expected gives good gotten hard hit immediate impact job last opens outside physical playing presence season sharp sitting staying stronger
We expected A.J. to have an immediate impact and he certainly has not disappointed anyone. It's hard sometimes sitting out a year, but he did a good job of playing hard and staying sharp last season during practice. He's gotten stronger over the last year, and A.J. certainly gives us a physical presence on the inside. What really also adds to his effectiveness and opens up opposing defenses is his ability to hit the outside shot.
game slow start worst
The worst thing you can do in a game like this is come out and start slow and let them think they can compete. We showed them they wouldn't be able to compete.
education generation half standards
There's probably about a generation and a half that have not had, by any standards we consider, an education.
gonna parity
There's so much parity in our league, you never know what's gonna happen.
conference exposure help morris northeast outside people recruiting robert television understand whatever
Television exposure is so important. I am not sure many people know that Robert Morris is in the Northeast Conference, especially people outside this area. We understand being in the Northeast Conference that we won't get the exposure of other conferences, but whatever we can get will help with recruiting and help people see this is a competitive league.
against battle behind cut fight good heart knew road sacred trip uphill
Sacred Heart is a good team, and we didn't play well against them. We knew this road trip was going to be tough. (On Thursday), we got behind by 12 and cut it to nine, but then had to fight an uphill battle from there.
game games home lost next number three
This next game is the most important for us for a number of reasons. We have lost three in a row. This is an important home game, and we are only three games out of first place.
everybody time
We're a little banged up, but everybody is banged up this time of year. No excuses.
feeling forward future improving worry
We can't worry about what just happened. We have to look forward to the future. We have to keep on improving and not getting complacent, not feeling comfortable.
