Mark Alan Buehrleis an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He began his Major League Baseballcareer with the Chicago White Sox and started the opening game every season from 2002 to 2006 and again from 2008 to 2011. To be honest, this was probably one of the most nervous games I've ever pitched in. Coming off last year, the crowd was really into it. The guys on the other club have been kind of mouthing off, talking about how they were a better team than us. So I really wanted us to come out and do just what we did.

I think I was more nervous yesterday sitting on the bench. Obviously, when I woke up this morning I was really nervous. Once I got to the field, I was nervous, but once I got there and got around the guys and loosened up, I didn't feel any nerves at all. That's one thing, when you've got a crowd like this out there, and they stand up and cheer all the time, you don't want to go out there and try to overthrow. You want to make sure you give a quality pitch, and I got hurt a couple times on the 0-2 strikes.

I think we have at least two guys on this staff that can win 20 games this year with the team we have, the offense. Like I've said before, it does take a lot of luck. There's a lot that has to happen. But I think it's not just two that can win 20 games on this staff. There might be three or more that can do it.

I had real good rhythm out there. As usual the guys made all the plays behind me. The key to the game was beating Santana. That's something we were unable to do for almost two years.

It's funny. In the spring, a lot of people had us finishing fourth or fifth in our division. Some people had Detroit finishing ahead of us, and a couple had Kansas City finishing ahead of us. It just shows you the way our guys came out and didn't care what people thought.

They're scrappy, ... and they don't try to do too much. They put the ball in play. When guys get on, they hit and run, steal, distract the pitcher. They go out and do everything they can to produce a couple of runs.

It wasn't him just going off and getting in people's faces. He did grab our attention, especially when he said if he has to have another meeting, it's not going to be fun. He said there will be a lot of guys getting shipped out of here, and he's going to air a lot of guys out.

I don't think anybody expected us to play as well as we did in the first half all year long. We knew we were going to go in a little funk. We just had to hold it to a minimum. We would have liked to clinch about a month ago, but we're here and that's all that matters.

Being a starting pitcher, you want to go out there and get as many runs early as you can. It happened a lot early in the season, and then the offense had been struggling lately. But any time you get a couple of runs early, it's nice to work with.

Being a starting pitcher, you want to be a 20-game winner. Every year you come into spring training hoping to get to that part. I've always said if I win five games and the team wins 90 percent of my starts, that's all I can hope for, give my team the best chance to win.
