I was so small, I wasn't even going to go back out for my junior year. But my mom and dad sat me down and said, 'we didn't raise a quitter - you're going back out.' I made the team and everything happened from there.
The faster you work, the better off you're going to be, ... I just don't see any reason to go out there and waste time. Just get out there and throw the ball.
I keep hearing stuff that my arm is hurt and I'm injured. I don't know where this is coming from, but I feel fine.
I really can't say I had playoff experience. Now being in the majors five years consecutively (as a starter), I think just being out there on the mound and being in pressure situations help.
I knew I had to settle down. I knew we wouldn't score a lot off Burnett.
The Cardinals thing, I don't really know if I could sign with them, to be honest with you. If the Cardinals and White Sox came in and said, 'Here, five years for the same amount of money' or slightly apart, I don't know if I could sign with the Cardinals. There's a lot of stuff that comes with that, a lot of distractions. I've talked to people that play in their hometown, and they say it's almost too big of a distraction.
I hung the ball the first couple of innings. Location-wise I didn't have it.
I'm able to control my emotions pretty good. But it's a little different situation this year.
