kids winning australia
When I was a kid in Adelaide, I dreamed of becoming No. 1 in the world, winning a grand slam and the Davis Cup for Australia.
winning tennis trying
That's when you've got to grit your teeth and hang in there and try and find a way to win when you're not playing your best tennis - that's what I can be proud of
team heart two
I am two different people. What you see on the court is just natural for me. I wear my heart on my sleeve. I have always said Cmon purely to fire myself up. Off the court, I am a lot shyer. I stick to my team and my family and people I trust.
bit confidence felt hard heart match moved nice paul pushing quite tough
I'm not quite 100 percent, so it's nice to get through. I felt like I moved a lot better in the past. It's a little bit of confidence with pushing off the ankle. Tonight's match was a tough because Paul competes his heart out, especially on a hard court.
hanging
I'm hanging in all right. I'm still in the tournament,
enjoyed event extremely great number playing time winning
I'm extremely disappointed as I have always enjoyed playing the event and had a great time in Shanghai in 2002, winning the event and maintaining my year-end world number 1 status.
bit feeling happy hit
I'm feeling a little bit better and I'm happy the way I hit the ball.
bad double errors faults foot game meant momentum played playing pressure second service slack third time top wrong
In the second set I couldn't put a foot wrong and started to get on top of him, but I just played a slack first game of the third set. I had the momentum big time at that stage, all I had to do was put some pressure on his service game, but some bad double faults and errors meant I was playing catch-up in the third set.
attack given opportunity pressure
In the past, when I've had opportunities on big points, he hasn't given me an opportunity to attack or put pressure on him,
adopted flashy great pay practice seriously whereas
In practice he's always been a great player, where he's very flashy and, you know, doesn't take it all seriously the whole time. Whereas I think he's adopted that a little more in his matches. It may pay off for him.
along australian great mark tennis won
I get along well with Mark and I think it's great he won today. It's great for him and it's great for Australian tennis as well.
against chances easy playing target
I know what I'm going to get. It's never easy playing against Taylor, but he's going to give me a target and I've got to take my chances when I get them.
against chances easy executing game matter plan playing target
I know what I'm going to get. It's just a matter of executing, going out there with a game plan and executing what I need to do out there. It's never easy playing against Taylor. He's going to give me a target and I've got to take my chances when I get them.
