hold matches served slower
I didn't think I served very well actually. I was a little slower there than my other matches but I was able to hold on there.
awkward bit days definitely eat felt few five four hit last routine week
I didn't eat for about four or five days. So it hit me pretty bad. I felt a little bit awkward the last few days just training, getting back into the routine of things again. I'm definitely a lot better than a week ago.
aussie behind bit bounce change crowd good head hopefully next rankings sort tennis work
Hopefully if he can work and put his head down, if he can sort of bounce back and get the crowd behind him and play some good tennis at the Aussie Open, that could set up a bit of a change in the rankings next year.
adopted flashy great looser normally played player playing seriously
He played a lot looser than he's normally played in the past. He's playing more like in practice, where he has always been a great player where he's very flashy and doesn't take it all seriously the whole time. I think he's adopted that a little more in his matches.
areas break clicking close felt fifth game hang kept late matter quite returning sort trying
Got the first break late in the fifth set, then just didn't close it out at 40-15, ... Just a matter of trying to hang in there. I felt like I was returning pretty well the whole match. That sort of kept me in it...I still felt like there was a lot of areas of my game that weren't quite clicking today.
ball chances hitting practice took
He took his chances a lot better than I did. You never like to lose. It's disappointing because in practice I feel like I've been hitting the ball great.
felt injury monday received treatment
I am not 100 percent, but I felt much better than Monday (when he received treatment during an injury timeout for the illness).
safer
I don't think they're going to overrule anything now. I think they'll take the safer option, and I don't think that's the way to go.
best blake great players
He's on a great run. Blake has come back as one of the best players out there.
games disappointing aspect
I was actually really happy with where my game was at. That's probably the most disappointing aspect.
funny-things trying way
Grand Slams are funny things. You have to try to find a way to get through the first week and put yourself in a position in the second week. A lot of strange things happen.
priorities finals records
You always love playing in finals at any tournament. The grand slams and stuff like that are obviously the priorities but any titles go on your record.
luck needs littles
Grand Slams are different. If you can get through a few matches, the draw opens up and you get confident. You just need a little bit of luck early, you get through those opening matches and you never know what could happen.
thinking tough court
I think I was as mentally tough as I've ever been. I felt like I handled the situation both on and off the court extremely well. I felt like I needed to.
