We did OK -- not great. Normally, a team can't win if they lose at the one, two and three singles positions, so I was pleased we could win at the bottom.

Overall, I am pleased with today. We didn't play as well in doubles as we can and that was disappointing. However, we played extremely well in singles. I thought that we played UNC the best that we have played any top-20 team this season, let alone a top-10 team. We matched up well against North Carolina. It was a matter of believing that we can compete with top teams, and I think we proved that to ourselves today.
against early easier might road teams
In hindsight, it might have been better if we scheduled some easier road teams early in the season. We have yet to play a team that we are favored against on the road.

Brianna and Sigrid did especially well because (Penn State) has been winning at the three, four and five positions. It was a good start to the Big Ten season.

I thought it was a great day for our freshmen to get used to college tennis and dual matches.

It came down to the doubles point. There are no excuses, we should have won the doubles point. That was the match.

I think the difference in the match may have come down to playing doubles inside. They play very aggressive doubles, and it really helped them being inside because they've got some girls that hit the ball with a lot of power.
against doubles pleased point western
I was especially pleased with the doubles against Western Michigan. I thought it was real important that we take the doubles point in that match.
