I wasn't going to come back until he called me. The Yankees organization is special, it's what you think about as a kid. I also knew Joe would be easy to work for.

No, not at all. Whoever replaces Joe Torre has got their hands filled. He's probably been as good a manager as there's ever been in baseball for a long, long time. My thoughts right now are coaching third base for the Yankees in 2006.

I think the people we've got are quality people, and Joe lets us do our thing. Being around Joe since spring training, you can see why he's such a great manager. He relies on his staff. And yet, when there's a tough decision to be made, he makes it.

I was told before I came here that they depleted the farm system. But I see a lot of players I like, especially those two kids. They both have great hands and they move their feet well. They look comfortable at this level.
