The overall goal of the restoration is not only to preserve the house, but to leave it in as good a condition as possible for the next governor to be able to actually use it as a home for them and their family. If the governor and the first lady had had children (at home), they would not have been able to live there.

Our goal was not to interfere with the process as it was always set to begin. We've put the process in place to ensure that we are able to follow the process, the families are kept up to date, and we have a public hearing that allows everybody to participate.

As soon as we can put a plan together, we will present it to the Legislature. It won't happen during this session. We need to really look at everything to fix the entire system. We aren't there yet.

We are waiting for the investigation to run its course. It's through the investigation we will get the facts about where things can be improved.

We are still working with them and support the project. We just couldn't justify giving them money for the bonds. We believe it is still a very good project.

Based upon parameters that are dictated by a court settlement, the attorney general often consults with the governor, but the final determination as to how the monies are returned to the people of the state lies with the Attorney General's Office, again, based upon the parameters that are dictated by the court.

We'll have to wait to see how things progress through the process. We still have a long way to go through the session.

We have been in contact with them and we do understand the challenges they face there.

We're looking at all the state parks throughout the system, because they all have needs. It would take much more than that (amount) to address all the needs we have in our state parks system.
