against beat brains built cause compete division expected gate good key optimism slow team teams trying year
We expected to have a better team than we've had here in a while. The key is to play to good against the teams you're going to compete with all year because there's been optimism built up, expectations and you want to keep that going. You don't want to come out of the gate slow and let the teams you're trying to overtake in your division beat your brains in cause then everybody's like where's the progress?
darn played teams top
At the end of a long year, we played two of the top teams pretty darn good.
bottom effective good teams top worry
Top to bottom (of the lineup), we have been pretty effective for the most part. And good teams have that, contribution from everyone ... so you don't have to worry about it too much.
bottom confident good guys swinging teams top
Our guys have been very confident swinging the bat. From top to bottom we've been pretty effective, and that's what you have to have. All the good teams do.
area good ohio outside teams whether
Going outside our area to play good teams is something we like doing, whether it's from the other end of Ohio or out of state.
certain five last nice night pitching playing runs teams
When you're playing certain teams in the league, you know you've got to score. We scored five last night and then five in one inning tonight. You know you have to do that, and the pitching did a nice job. But, yeah, the add-on runs are key.
against beat beginning good perennial teams top
It's the beginning of the year, but your perennial top teams in baseball, if you ever want to get where they're at, you have to beat them. We've got to play good against them.
darn expected good lay team teams
For a team that wasn't expected to do a whole lot, they've done a darn good job, ... Some teams lay down there and die. Not that group.
against approach certain chance couple guys looking might numbers teams
The first day we got down here, I said, 'The numbers are against you, but you still need to approach it like you're going out there to try and make this team.' I just want him to have fun. I don't know what teams are looking (for a catcher). Certain teams, if we try to get him through (waivers), there's teams that may want to go with the young guys and might take a chance on him. It's unfortunate he had those couple years where he was injured.
answer games ready
There are 10 games left, and he's not ready to go today, ... Or tomorrow. So I can't answer that yet.
hits platoon
The platoon is still on, he just hits Vazquez good.
developing near win
We think we can win when he pitches, but we're also developing him for the future. You've got to do it sometimes -- and what's the other option? The more he's out there, the better he'll be in the near future.
ahead coming expect spring throw
We kind of had (Janssen) ahead coming out of spring training. Experience-wise they're all pretty similar. You know (Janssen) is going to come up and throw strikes, you expect him too anyway. It's his opportunity.
ahead coming others spring
We kind of had him ahead of the others coming out of spring training.
